Apple has rolled out an incremental update for users of Mac OS X 10.7 addressing general operating system issues enhancing the stability and compatibility of Macs running Lion.
According to a number of technical notes posted on Apple Support/Downloads, 'The 10.7.1 update is recommended for all users running OS X Lion and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability and compatibility of your Mac.'
The 10.7.1 release - available in separate packages for different systems - contains specific fixes for an issue that may cause the system to become unresponsive when playing a video in Safari; a bug that may cause system audio to stop working when using HDMI or optical audio out; a problem with transferring data, settings, and compatible applications to a new Mac running OS X Lion; an issue causing intermittent display flickering on MacBook Air; and an issue that causes the SD card slot in Mac mini to run at reduced speed with SD and SDHC media.
In addition to these enhancements, Mac OS X 10.7.1 also improves reliability of Wi-Fi connections.
